The Orange County Office on Youth offers tobacco prevention and cessation programming for Orange County youth with funding from the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth (VFHY).
This tobacco prevention grant funding allowed the Office on Youth to partner with the truth initiative to bring the "T
his is Quitting" program to Orange County youth. "This is Quitting" is a vaping cessation program for youth. Teens and young adults can text VAPEFREEOC to 88709 to receive up to 12 weeks of daily messages and quit assistance. "This is Quitting" is an anonymous text message program and the first-of-its-kind, created in 2019 and already assisting nearly 400,000 youth and young adults, nationwide, on their journey to quit vaping. It is completely confidential yet customized to the needs of each enrollee.
Other tobacco prevention programming, including the Orange County Take Down Tobacco Day Contest and bi-annual tobacco litter cleanup events, are also made possible with VFHY funding.
