As one of their major projects for 2021, the Orange County Parks & Recreation Department plans to install a dog park in a currently unused portion of Booster Park, located at 11177 Bloomsbury Road, Orange, VA 22960. Given its close proximity to the Orange County Airport and Skydive Orange, this dog park will be called “Skydog Orange Dog Park.” With the help of the Orange County Parks & Recreation Foundation, the Department intends to fundraise through 2021, begin construction in the winter of 2021, and open the park in the spring of 2022. As planned, the park will feature four fenced fields with double-gate systems, allowing for the separation of small and large dogs and the resting of fields to allow grass regrowth.
