Location

The Orange County Landfill is located off Route 20, approximately 4 miles east of Orange, at 11530 Porter Road (Route 625).

Residential customers may dispose of household waste at no cost.

Orange County Tire Amnesty Event

Voucher Distribution: Monday, August 15 - Friday, August 19, 2022

Tire Disposal Window: Monday, August 22 - Saturday, October 1, 2022

The Orange County Landfill and Orange County Litter Control Committee are preparing to distribute free vouchers for the Tire Amnesty Recycling event. This is an opportunity for Orange County residents to responsibly discard unwanted tires without paying the normal tipping fee of $2.50 per tire. A limited number of vouchers will be available at the Orange County Administration Office, located at 112 W. Main Street, Orange, VA 22960. Orange County residents and property owners may visit this office (note: not the Landfill) during business hours Monday, August 15 through Friday, August 19, 2022, to obtain up to two (2) vouchers per household. Orange County Hazardous Waste Disposal Day 

Saturday, October 8, 2022, 8:00 a.m. - Noon

Attention Orange County residents, this event is your chance to get rid of the potentially dangerous stuff in your garage and basement. This event lasts only four (4) hours and will end promptly at noon. No business waste accepted. Examples of acceptable items include paint, pool chemicals, gasoline (no containers larger than five gallons), solvents, insecticides, fluorescent lightbulbs, aerosols, antifreeze, oil, batteries, and more. Some items CANNOT be accepted, such as explosives, gas grill tanks, fire extinguishers, tires, televisions, appliances, or any unknown substances.
