The County of Orange Fire and EMS (COFEMS) career department was established in 1998 due to a need for more EMS professionals to respond to an ever-rising 911 call volume in the county. With approximately 5,500 EMS calls every year, there are currently four (4) Fire / EMS stations staffed by career medic / firefighters twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Presently, COFEMS has thirty-seven (37) career staff serving Orange County's 34,000 residents.

To serve our community by protecting and preserving life, property, and the environment through prevention, education, emergency medical services, rescue, and fire suppression.

The Department of Fire & EMS maintains a Facebook page that is updated daily with current news from within the Department and industry. 

YouTube

The Department also produces regular educational video programs for use by other Fire and EMS professionals and the community at-large. These programs are circulated both locally and nationally and are available for viewing on our YouTube site.
