A
bout the Patrol Division
The Patrol Division consists of ten (10) deputies, two (2) sergeants and a lieutenant. There is a traffic division within the patrol section that consists of two (2) deputies. Patrol deputies are the first responders to any call that comes to the Sheriff's Office. They are also assigned with serving all criminal warrants, and some civil papers. They are responsible for enforcing the traffic laws, some of which include DUI, speed, and safety belt enforcement.
The Patrol Division patrols the county 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year. The Patrol Division investigates a majority of all crimes that are reported, and are first responders to all major crimes.
Traffic Division
The Traffic Division is responsible for enforcing traffic laws, and investigating motor vehicle crashes. They assist with funeral traffic, stranded motorists, and any other type of incident that may occur on the highways of the county. The Traffic Division deputies are cross trained with the patrol deputies and can respond and assist with any incident that may arise.
