The Orange County Parks and Recreation Office strives to offer a variety of recreational activities, including classes, clinics, and camps. We also aim to provide fun events for all ages. The next Playin' in the Park Independence Celebration will be held Friday, July 1, 2022 at Booster Park. Admission is free. There are no tickets. Freewill donations will be accepted by OCHS Football for parking services. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy live music, a Touch-A-Truck, and food vendors during this family friendly event. Fireworks will take place at dark. You are welcome and encouraged to bring picnics, blankets, and lawn chairs.  Alcohol is prohibited. Pets must be on-leash at all times. Parking is limited, please arrive early.

Planned food vendors will include: Barbara's Soulfood, Buffalo Wild Wings, B-Radd & Honey, R U Freak'n Hungry, and Kona Ice of Culpeper.

Unionville Community Park School Supply Drop-Off Event

Visit Unionville Community Park on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to donate school supplies. Help support our local students, learn about this new park location, and receive a free hot dog with school supply donation. This event is offered through a partnership between the Orange County Office on Youth and Orange County Parks & Recreation. All supplies collected will be incorporated into the Office on Youth's school supply giveaways later this summer. Accepted school supplies will include: backpacks, composition books, pencil boxes, pencils (packs of 12), scissors, glue sticks, broad tip markers, dry erase markers, crayons (packs of 24), earbuds/headphones, notebook paper (wide and college ruled), folders with pockets.
