  1. OCPR Basketball Clinics OES Grades K-2

    April 22, 3:20 PM - 4:20 PM @ Orange Elementary School

    OCPR is offering after-school basketball clinics at OES for kids in grades K-5 (two age groups: K-2 and 3-5). These clinics will help teach the fundamentals of the game, keep kids active, and allow for some off-season practice. Clinics will be held once-a-week on either Mondays (K-2) or Fridays (3-5) April 22 through May 17, for a total of 4 classes. Pre-registration is required. Register by 4/12/2019. The registration fee is $40. Registrations received after the deadline will be charged a $5 late fee. Space is limited, and the program may close before the deadline if full.

  3. OCPR Assistance Animal Informational Seminar

    April 23, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Sedwick Building Downstairs Conference Room

    Have you ever considered getting an assistance animal for yourself or for someone you know? Want to know more about different labels given to animals such as: service, therapy, emotional support, or working? Learn what an assistance animal is and what the ADA has to say about it. We’ll discuss what it takes to have an assistance animal, the advantages and disadvantages of being a handler, and the joyful possibilities ownership entails. Instructor Susan Baccei is a long time Orange County resident and a former educator. She was determined disabled in 2010 due to an acquired brain injury. Getting her service dog Blanket greatly improved her quality of life. With 20 years of animal training experience including therapy, working and service dogs, Susan combines her love of animals with education to help others. Pre-registration is required and the fee is $15. The class will be held 6:30-8pm on April 23, 2019 in the Sedwick Building downstairs conference room.

  4. OCPR Tai Chi Fundamentals Spring Session

    April 23, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Dogwood Village Senior Living Wellness Room

    OCPR’s next Tai Chi Fundamentals Session begins April 9 and will continue for 8 weeks of classes, ending on May 28. Have fun learning this graceful, slow moving form of exercise that has ancient roots tracing back into the depths of Chinese culture and philosophy of centuries past. Classes are held at Dogwood Village in the Senior Living Building Wellness Room on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Signups for our ongoing Tai Chi programs are accepted at any time during a program. The registration fee for this program is $95. Open to adults. You can sign up anytime, but you must register before attending.

  6. OCPR Outdoor Skills: Virginia Wildlife Identification and Tracking

    April 26, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Booster Park

    Want to know more about the critters that move through your backyard when you’re not looking? Sign up for our upcoming OCPR Outdoor Skills class. This class is intended to help give parents and kids the know-how to go on their own backyard adventure and notice the telltale signs of animal activity. In this one day class, we’ll introduce students to some of the common wildlife species in Virginia. With fun activities, we’ll learn how to identify tracks and develop a better understanding of how animals move through their environment. Open to parents and kids (ages 5+), this class will feature indoor and outdoor portions. It will be hosted at Booster Park on April 26, 2019 from 5:30-7:30pm. The registration fee is $15 and pre-registration is required before the deadline of April 19, 2019. The class may fill before the deadline, so don't delay.
