Youth Karate - View Flyer - CLASS FULL (CALL FOR WAITLIST)

Our popular karate program returns in a new location. Offered in partnership with the Central Virginia Training Center (located in the Colonial Square shopping center on Route 15, on the opposite end of the Tractor Supply), this program is instructed by long-time OCPR instructor Sensei Spike Richards. Classes will be held weekly on Wednesdays beginning at 4:30pm. The beginner class will end at 5:20pm, with the advanced class ending at 6:30pm. The program will resume beginning April 21, 2021; and the month of April will be prorated to half price ($22.50 for beginner or $35 for advanced). Beginning in May, the fees will return to their standard price of $45 or $70 monthly. An additional uniform fee will be payable to the instructor after a few classes. Please note, space will be very limited in this class due to COVID and other considerations. Don't delay.

Walk with a Hawk in partnership with Earthquest Inc - View Flyer - CLASS FULL

Our friends at Earthquest Inc. bring one of their amazing birds of prey to take a walk (or rather flight) with you. In this program, participants take a walk at Booster Park while an Earthquest educator teaches about hawks and what makes them so special. During the walk, Earthquest’s flighted, non-releasable Red-Tailed Hawk will follow along. This program is open to all ages. We recommend families participate together to facilitate better discussion and understanding of these amazing animals. With that in mind, participants 8 and younger are free if participating with a paid adult. This class will be held on Monday, March 29, from 4-5pm. Space will be limited in this program, so early registration is recommended. The deadline to register is one week prior to the class date. We have updated the pricing for this program. Rather than the originally advertised $25 per person with free admission to those ages 8 and under; going forward the price will be $25 per person or $50 per household (up to 4 folks, must reside together). Those who registered earlier with an under 8 year old will not be charged extra.

Outdoor Skill Series - View Flyer

This program is a weekly series of classes focusing on outdoor awareness, wellness, and stewardship. It is offered in partnership with Earthquest Inc., the Orange County Healthy Community Action Team, and the Orange County Litter Control Committee. Participants will meet once a week on Tuesdays for one or two hours (depending on topic) beginning at 5:30pm, usually at Booster Park. Other sites might be used for specific topics. Topics covered will include Wildlife of Virginia, Tracking & Wildlife Sign, Birds of the World, The Outdoors & You, Stewardship, and a Field Day tying together all topics. The registration fee is $50, and the class is open to participants aged 8-12. To register your child, please call us at (540) 672-5435.
